Joel, I would think it might be a good idea, but I would like top suggest
one other possibility. My '82 temperature and fuel guage read too high all
the time. Ran outa gas and found out the hard way. I also did the
thermostadt- with no effect on the operating temp. Some one suggested the
voltage stabilizer for the dash might be out of specs and producing too
much/little voltage.  It is a Transistor looking thing mounted by the clock
on the back of the guage pod.
Voltage should be approx 10 volts between positive connection 1 and ground
2. (PG 90.18 of my bently manual)  And my other suggestion is to use a oem
style thermostadt. I've tried others and they just don't work well. Poor
heater output- etc.  Joel- Wisconsin
