Subject: Re: Problems with the u-joints of the driveshaft
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Greetings. I am one of those who has had the u-joints replaced by an oufit in Vancouver, BC. Unfortunately it was not successful, still has a vibration at 30 kph and at 60 kph. Had it sent back to the shop 3 times to resolve, but no luck. This was done last fall. In the mean time I had picked up a used shaft from a local wrecker to get me thru the winter. It isn't perfect, but pretty good. I had heard somewhere that VW also balanced the shaft on the vehicle during assembly. Don't know if this is true or not. I have a new vibration in the vehicle somewhere at 85 to 90 kph with the driveshaft out. This is still unresolved. -- R.Feuerriegel 88 syncro
