Marshall, This is just one of many reasons why it's simplest, less hassles & most times, less costly to just buy remanufactured shafts and put them on yourself , then take back your originals for deposit (checking out the new one's to make sure they are like the originals before installing them) Canadian tire says they have shafts for $200 cdn. each (after return).... when it comes to parts & proper installation for a Vanagon....Can Tire is about 2 paddles short of a full canoe.... be very careful letting them do anything important... they are fine for.... accessories... but you think, you hear some screwy replies, from people here.... most of these guys are pros up against, can tire..... look at it this way Marshall.... they don't even have a Bentley on vanagons.........their attitude is basically, we have a big enough hammer to make anything fit........hope you get it worked out.
