Steve, Tom and Volks

Sorry to take so long but I have been on the night shift and suffer from brain dead for a few days after.

Ok. A.R.B. the makers of Old Man Emu Shocks, have a web site

http//www//arb.com.au

I spoke to someone in their sales dept. this morning. It most probabily is me, but I would bet that he was more brain dead than I. He informed me that they do not sell shocks for VW. However he did mentioned the word " Transporter " over the phone to me on more than one occasion.

Decided not to let this beat me so I rang back and spoke to a more with it fellow called Clint. He stated that they do not have a specific listing for the VW because they market to Toyota, Nissan, Land Rover, Range Rover and other makes more popular over here. Believe it or not there are very few Syncro's and Vanagons down under. He did say however that he feels some of their existing shocks would fit the VW. It was only a matter of researching their range to find the ones compatable. He even suggested that their Americian distributors may have already done this to cover their particular market place. All in all a much better fellow to obtain information from.

They have a catalogue and he is sending me one. Sorry they would not be willing to send them over to the U.S. as he feels that would be unethical as they have Americian Distributors and people should go through them. I am not game to try and scan the catalogue onto the list ( I did that with the Subaru article and look at the mess I got myself into) but I will post it to someone over there like Ron or Ken or Steve or anyone else then you blokes can copy it and spread it around.

Last but by no means least A.R.B. have no connection with Monroe, apart from the fact that Monroe sometimes do so production work for them on certain product lines. Cannot explain to you Steve how come Monroe badges appear on your shocks - excepting that the person you obtained the shocks from did not find a O.M.E. genuine fit so they replaced it with Monroe. Now you buggers I dont want to hear a lot of bull dust about getting the lawyers into action. I am only guessing at this as I do not know the FULL CIRCUMSTANCES so dont charge off half cocked screaming " sue the bastards " research it through and ask your supplier.

Ok enough of this diatribe ! That's it for now! My two fingers are getting awful sore and the headache isn't improving. I am off to bed.

Ray.
