Subject: Rear heater leaking

While driving through the park with my huge sunroof open, I spied a blinking coolant light... and smelled a sickening sweet odor. You know the deal.

Well, I look at the heater and the plastic valve on the top is broken off-- the stud is snapped in two. I've heard about the rear heater problems, but is this the area that normally fails? If it's some fluke (like the PO stuffing the jack under the seat with a little too much vigor), I'll just get one from the junkyard. If it's the typical failure, I won't waste money on a used one that will fail in a few months. I'll invest in a new valve.

What do the volksmeisters think?

Also, do I need to do anything special to my carpet. Will this autobahn blue stuff stain my carpet (blue if it matters)?

As always, thanks in advance. _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com
