I have some extra fabric in that blue-green plaid that I was saving for the day I need to recover my front seats.

My wife is wanting to make me a kilt out of it. If she can make the little hat and a matching vest, she may be able to talk me into wearing it.

On a related note, at a recent local VW campout, a friend of mine from KC pulled out a roll of brand new westy blue green fabric. He had found this in a junk shop for $5 or so. We matched it perfectly to my '74, but I was unable to talk him out of it.

If I could get enough of this fabric, I think it would be cool to paint a bug, or possibly my '73 Thing to match the '74 Westy, and recover the seats to match as well. I would even put a couple of Westy stickers on the side and have the only VW Westy Thing in the world. My "74 is that really cool Yosemite Yellow.
