Chris, your advice that we get our vans appraised now before an accident is excellent advice...i am doing just that. I have worked as an attorney both for and against ins. companies. You are right more that more often than not, the only way to get fair compensation is to sue...that is why insurance companies make so much money...they blow people off and make them go to hell and back to get what they deserve and what the insurance companies are supposed to pay under the policy anyway. It is shameful and cloggs the courts with unnecessary litigation. Of coursse, the insurance companies then turn around and blame the trial lawyers like me...and people buy it...until they themselves become a victim of the endless scam, that is.

Sue the bastards! most people walkaway losers and let the ins. co. pocket the windfall. Don't do it. If everybody refused to be had in this way and sued for what they are entitled to, the ins. compamnies would have to change thier crooked ways and start paying fairly because it would cost too much and their profit incentive to be cheats would be taken away. steve
