That light indicates low coolant in the primary coolant tank (the one in the engine compartment, not the one behind the license plate). If the tank is full, then you either have a bad level sensor or a poor connection to the sensor (which is common). Fill the tank and clean the sensor plug contacts. BTW if the tank is low on coolant, you have another problem...

I need some help here---this is the situation. I have an 85 Westy 93330 miles on him. I just got the Westy about a week and a half ago and have been driving the van very lightly..light miles..light speed..pretty much babying the thing. Well yesterday I may have driven the van 6 miles total..parked it for about and hour or so..came back out and went to start it and the temp gauge kept blinking..it usually blinks at the beginning and then shuts off. What does this blinking mean? How can it be sensing engine heat if I haven't even been driving it? Please someone help me out..I am in a bit of a bind..Thank you--Adam
