Intersting idea...is this a Westy Vanagon? The reason I ask is that if one of us were to run across a Westy in the junkyard with a smashed-in front, it would probably be pretty easy to chop it off just behind the front doors and "recycle" it as a camping trailer. A bit heavier than others, but pretty neat.

Pull the engine & tranny and enclose the bottom of the compartment, you could mount cool stuff like a generator, larger water tanks, etc.
