They're completely different types of shocks. The Boges have no gas in them. Of course you can compress them easily. Stiffness ain't everything, and it sure isn't a measure of the quality of a shock. In my view, the boge is a better shock. They are much more responsive to terrain change, use better/stronger materials and are more precisely damped for the application. steve
