I'm sorry, but as a fairly recent devotee of Vanagon lore (and a pretty
accomplished back yard mechanic), I was reading this and just cracking up
<g>. This is exactly the kind of necessary procedure that makes the Vanagon
so endearing! :-)
Are we all sado-masochists? I never felt quite as passionate about my
British cars, and they were just as quirky. (But then again, it was really
a bitch to camp in an Austin Healy 100-6...)
