The problem isn't with the truck being able to pull the weight it is the weight distribution which is too much for the hitch and could cause it to break (sending all your goats and perhaps even some relatives over a cliff somewhere). By the way since you are going to chop your Vanagon up to make it into a trailer does this mean that you will be leaving the Vanagon list (I mean is this your only Vanagon?
