Jon: I have narrowed the search down to an Optima "Yellow Top" battery, either D34/78-950 (side and top terminals) or a D750S (top terminals only) Both have the same dimensions, and must be mounted laying on its side. Several list members have p-mailed me confirmations that it does fit, though it requires some trimming of a metal strip in the battery tray. I did get one p-mail from another Syncro owner, who said he could not get his to fit (is there a difference with Syncros? - I doubt it) I will be buying and installing one within a week or so, so I will let you know how it goes...
