Hope you folks can help.

I am going to install an Optima yellow top battery as the second battery in my '90 Westie. Found them at Batteries Plus for $169.95 in the Columbus OH area. Jegs price is $179.95.

Now, how do I get the drivers seat completely out. I checked Haynes, but all it shows is bending up a lock tab to allow the seat to slide off the track. I have not done that yet, but after that is done, how does the rotating plate and sliding track come off, so that I can get the battery in the compartment. I plan to install it on its side, and use the top posts (which would then be on its side), as was suggested in a vanagon.com posting in 1997.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks

Ralph Geho
