After experiencing some severe gearbox problems last week, it has now all been fixed thanks to Tony Newman at Transporters in Surrey. The box has been totally rebuilt and he has also stripped and cleaned my diff lock servos and both front and rear locks now work :-)

It was a real experience seeing his Oettinger WBX-6 sat there outside his workshop. Oettinger have flared the trailing edges of the arches to allow 16's be fitted (205R16 tires). Whilst Tony is looking to sell this vehicle, I consider that I have enough problems finding parts for a regular Syncro, let alone a WBX-6 !!!....although I was tempted :-)

I am sure that I can get a far better bang for buck going the Audi 5 cyl route.

I'm now fitting a deep discharge battery. Is it sufficient to provide a charge feed to the second battery that is enabled when the ignition is turned on, or should I use an alternator sense feed? I will not be drawing high current from the 2nd batt when the ignition is turned on.

Malcolm.
