I think I remember you saying that AVP got a bad batch of head gaskets and that the manufacturer would cover replacement.

Did they only fix one side? Both sides should have been replaced if defective parts were known to be installed in some engines. Is the same side leaking or is it the other side?

I would take that engine out and ship it back to AVP with the expectation they would fix it properly, give me a new warranty, and even pay for shipping. It depends on how much time and money you have. If you have no time and enough money take it to a good local shop and have them fix it. If you have the time, send it to AVP.

Forget about small claims court, it is nearly impossible to collect if you win. You should contact your state attorney general's consumer affairs office. They can intervene on your behalf in many cases. This should be pretty clear cut since AVP acknowledged defective parts from a supplier.
