Now is the time to discuss the >VW rebuilds, or are they VW rebuilds? Does any of you listees know where these >engines come from? I know VW has a factory in germany for rebuilding engines, >trannys and other components, but are the engines the US dealers offer rebuilt >in Germany?

Far as I know VWoA has an engine remanufacturing facility somewhere in Canada...I believe Ontario. I picked up a flyer at my dealer's parts counter one day advertising VW's engine rebuilding service. I looks like it is their own facility and they advertise that only VW original parts are used in the rebuilds. Mark
