I had the same question re Boston and Wash DC.  In addition to
the lists help, I found that Woodall's Guide to Campgrounds to be
the best.  It lists 1-800 numbers and maps with locations and if the
campgrounds were close to which type of public transport.  Your
local bookstore should have it.  Sorry the ISBN is at home, if you
want it, p-mail me.  There is a Guide for East, one for West and
