I did that to my '77 rabbit and '72 BMW - and never had to replace a CV joint. The rabbit went 17 years and I still have the '72 BMW.(375,000 miles) I'm gonna do it to my '87 westy. Let me see - correct me If I'm wrong(it's been along time) but you should use multi-purpose Molybdenum. Ciao, Paolo
