While doing the "leg extension" notches (legroom, finally) and cleaning out all the dirt and grease, I came across one of those inserts recently. Have four ordered at VW for $4.06 each, VW # 251 881 213. Availability seems to be a couple of weeks. Didn't see them available from any list vendors. In the meantime, have metal to metal with spray on silicone lubricant and it seems to work pretty well, much better than the grease gum. Will let you know if there is a difference if they ever arrive.

Cheers, Tom Neal
