Volks -- I'm working on a newly rebuilt 1.9l Digijet which was working fine (except for internal squeal) before being rebuilt. Engine now wants ignition timing of somewhere around 20 degrees BTDC instead of the nominal 5 degrees ATDC. I have verified that crank-pulley TDC is equal to #1 cylinder TDC. I have swapped ECU and distributor one at a time with another 1.9l, no change. Engine appears to be shy of power, not verified (I've gotten used to the 7-passenger...). Thoughts? Could this be a cam timing problem and if so how can I measure it? thanks david David Beierl - dbeierl@ibm.net |
