Johan, The idle position of the throttle is controlled by a screw that is set at the factory. You should never have to adjust this screw as the idle speed is controlled by another screw (a big one on top of the throttle body) that controls how much air bypasses the throttle. The idle position switch is supposed to be set such that it closes when the throttle is in the idle position. This signals the ECU that the engine is idleing and the ECU makes the necessary adjustments in timing, mixture, etc. to allow the engine to idle properly. If this switch is not properly adjusted or if it is broken, you could experience the symptoms you described. It is easy to check that the switch closes properly at idle with an ohmmeter.
