Just wanted to let folks know that I am going to be doing mass airconditioning conversions this week. I have an '84 Vanagon that I am converting, a '91 (my Carat), my '81 diesel Jetta, and my parents '86 Turbo Diesel Jetta. The good part of this is that I will have data for you folks and o-ring sizes and or part numbers. I am going to be putting together a modular kit for the R-134a conversion which will include the Ester Oil/134a fittings ($32), all the o-rings for the conversion (??), New Reciever/Dryers ($35 for 1.9l Vanagons and $60 for 2.1l), new expansion valves $25-30 (as needed). I will not be selling R-134a or any AC flush as you can buy these locally at any Napa and I would hate for this stuff to get damaged by shipping it. Also since most folks on this list are going to basically be just flushing the system, changing the dryer, o-rings and oil and then taking the van to a shop to get the R-134a put in professionally it just doesn't make sense to sell the refrigerant. Also a How-To will be included in any kits. Thanks Ken Wilford Van-Again |
