SJ, So you're being overcharged for your insurance, and get excited when they rebate part of your money, which they probably don't pay you any interest for using all year? Wish I could get a few thousand folks to send me $500 to hold for a year, which I could then return to them. I could live very nicely off the interest. Larry

You just don't get it. It's a co-op. Non-profit. Insurance companies are required to keep certain amounts in reserve as determined by complex formulas. Every year when the claims come in under the projected amount, the money returns to the "member" pockets.

Stick Allstate coverage on your vanagon (mandatory content) or whoever if you will. You'll never get any money back.

Did I mention that USAA is MUCH cheaper than even those fly-by-night insurers. They've always been significantly cheaper than anyone else I've quoted.

Since this really off topic, I'll shut up now.
