No, the fan can be heard but not seen. Remove the small vent on the side of the fridge and look in. At the top of one of the fins is a small round metal thing with 2 wires going to it. It is held on to the fin with 2 small screws. This is the temp switch that turns the fan on and off. There is only room for one hand to fit in here so be careful. You can use a paper clip straightened and bent into a U shape to jumper the 2 wires . Be careful not to touch any other metal except the flat parts of the switch where the wires plug on. the fan should now come on. If you do touch other metal, you may blow the fuse for the kitchen and that will need to be replaced before continuing. If your fan is a quiet one you may have to listen closely and do it when there is not much background noise. If you are sure that you are touching the metal parts on the connectors and you get no fan, you need to get a voltmeter or test lamp and check for 12 volts at one or both of the flat parts.

The battery led is supposed to indicate the charge state of the battery. It should be green when the engine is running. There are a number of reasons why it might be yellow. Is it green when the engine is running at 2000 rpm?
