<< Who warrants the thing? Ken - great? VW also-- even better? >> This motor comes with a 12 month, 12k miles parts only warranty (done by my distributor). If you come here and have me install it I'll do a parts and labor warranty (if you bring it back for me to do the labor). I spoke with the gentleman that imports these motors yesterday. They are rebuilt using only Kobelshimdt parts (VW OEM German) by VW of South Africa. They come with new AMC heads (Spanish) since VW doesn't make new heads any more but the rest is all German. The concern is that the VW rebuilds done in Canada use some Brazilian parts and also that they merely rebuild their heads instead of replacing them with new ones. At $2495 ($1000 less than a Canadian rebuild) you really can't go wrong for a genuine VW rebuild. They also come with new waterpumps and thermostats. This price includes shipping the motor to you but does not include the return of your $600 core engine. Thanks Ken Wilford Van-Again John 3:16
