I removed the exterior vent and then I put some silicon sealant (or was it seam sealer?) in behind the vent when I reinstalled it. I don't know if that will help, but I did it. I also spray liberally with Krown or Rust-Check anti rust 'oil' each time I take anything!! apart. Malcolm S
