yup. the price is dropping. this guy (dealer) started out at $1900 a few weeks ago, now he's down to '$1200/OBO' ... he'd likely take $1000 quickly. here's the ad (in www.classifieds2000.com):

1987, VW Vanagon synchro <sic>, 110K miles, $1,200/OBO exterior color -gray interior color -gray 4-cyl air conditioning 4 wheel drive manual transmission cylinders heads leaking slightly, gas tank also leaking & transmission has no 4th gear, pops out of third gear and is noisey. van does run & drive. newer clutch and water pump. for sale by dealer (userid: tomdemrovsky) (330) 825-6601 Norton, OH 44203 post date 21-may-1999.

it's too far for me, or i'd seriously think about digging myself deeper into debt ... hell, them syncros got to be fun in the muddy cotton fields!!! :)
