Ya got me thinking...I'm going to email bosch again, and be more
specific. When I emailed them, I wanted to know about the bosch filters
I used (ones for diesel vw's) in canada. I was assured that bosch made
there own regardless of whether it was made in the US or Germany.
I'm not so confident now.
If bosch does outsource US filters to another company. (like wix makes
filters for napa and many others). I'd be doubtful it was fram. The
design is so not fram ( at least the ones I've looked at marked, made in
the US ).
Take one apart...I'm really curious. The stuff we get up in canada is
all the same...gas, diesel...they all have the same design whether it
says made in the us or made in germany. The filters we get here, you can
see the spring loaded bypass valve at the to of the filter, from looking
in the hole at the bottom. The frams you can see the plastic, bypass
(almost one time only) valve...very different design.
PS: I'm sorry for being harsh in my message. You didn't deserve that. :)
