Ok. 2 days and the AC is down a pound of freon. Ah the guilt. For health reasons it has to be functioning tho' as we are leaving (FINALLY) in the morning for a 20 hour ride thru some most likely REALLY warm climate driving. My repair guy is really kewl...we finally figured out that the mystery leak is from the U shaped metal pipe that comes of the compressor where you put the freon in. It is the valve itself that is leaking. Do any of you have advice on a quick fix for it? Or better yet does anyone in the San Francisco Bay area have this part. I called the dealers in the area. I assume this isn't a duct tape fixerup due to the amount of pressure it is under. My repair guy has offered to take it out and try to sautering it tonight after he puts his kids to bed...so I need to know in the next few hours. Any pointers or suggestions gladly accepted.
