Raining and 55? That is *perfect* Vanagon working weather here in Seattle! It's the 90 degrees and 90% humidity you guys back east get that I can't handle! P.S., I have repaired those worn pedals in my MGB by filling the worn part with weldment (MIG) and drilling a new hole. Works great, and any welding shop should be able to do this if you can't get a good, cheap used pedal.
