Up until the time our daughter was a few months old we kept her in a
cradle-box anchored to the top of the large table and at least one of us
slept next to her on the down bed. We then transferred her to what she
called her "nest" behind the rear seat. That worked for a few years. THen
when she got long enough we put her on the down bed - but we had her fall
asleep on the top bunk then moved her later to the down bunk pulled out -
and we put an extra row of pillows across the end of the bed. She never
went over the pillows and on the floor, though we often wondered if she
would since she was a real mover in her sleep. When she was 7 we got rid of
the vanagon and moved into a '97 EV Winnie. She was too heavy to move from
top to bottom though and since we hated the winnie part, we moved into a '93
EV Westie with a queen size bed down, a bunk for her on top, and no cooking
stuff. That worked for awhile... but the syncro was too much to give up.
We just moved into a '90 Westie syncro... and we figured out a couple ways
to modify the bottom bunk to get it wider and add head rests. So we've come
full circle!!!
