Hey everyone. I have a problem. The fuel pump on my '81 automatic has stopped working. When I run a wire from the battery to it, it works, so there is nothing wrong with the pump itself. When I turn on the key, I do not hear the pump running at all. The vehicle will start for a second or so, then die. I suspect it is runnning on the cold start valve only. So, is there a relay for the pump as Haynes would lead me to believe? If so, where is it? Is this likely to be the problem? Could it be a problem with the ignition switch? Is there a fuse for the pump somewhere? This has happened out of the blue, shortly after I removed and replaced my starter. Could that have something to do with it? I mean do any of the wires on the starter have a conection to the pump? I know that's a lot of questions, but I'm at a total loss as to where to start looking for a solution. My sister w/kids will be home from BC in a few weeks, and I've promised her the use of my camper for two weeks, so, I'd really like to get this squared away. Any help is greatly appreciated.
