Well, when I read the response from G. Matthew about being tight when adjusting the valves I thought to my self, 'It wasn't tight when I adjusted the valves was it?' Then I answered my self, don't want any one sided self-conversations here, "Adjust the valves?!? I didn't adjust any valves except for the No 1 cylinder." That did make a difference. The only places where it was hard to turn was close to TDC.

I finally got the rest of it completed and got it started today. We were going camping in it this weekend down by Cannon River. You notice I said we WERE going camping in it this weekend. I don't know what happened, I'll find out when I tear it down again, but I had so much vibration in there that the bolt holding the fan on sheared off. I think the flywheel bolts did the same because when it died I could still hear it spin. Also, now when I crank it, all I get is the starter and the flywheel to turn.

It's always something, isn't it.

Oh, well! Back to the drawing board!!
