On a turbo Diesel installation it makes sense to move the turbo oil return line up above the pan.

On the 1.9l TD engine this is already cared for. In the picture below you can see the oil return entering the block centrally just below the waste gate.

In a 1.6l TD you would have to arrange for the return yourself, like Jack Ewald did in this picture:
