I use three things.  First I try to wear gloves where ever possible.
Second, when it come time to clean up I use Avon's "Skin so soft" first,
this is a oil based product that does a great job of breaking down grease
that soap won't touch - even CV joint grease!  Third, to get rid of the
smelly "Skin so soft" I use some plain old anti-bacterial bathroom pump
soap.  Works well!
