Chris, My experieince is from an 85 Westy. First, make sure your leak is from the slave cylinder boot and not any connection to it.

There are two mounting bolts to remove the slave. It can be done partly from engine compartment area and then from below, using box wrenches. One wrench can be wedged into mounting bracket below the slave, then another box wrench is used to loosen top nut. Be careful in your handling of connection hose when unit is released.

I dribbled new brake fluid into slave unit before attaching. Once rebolted in place, flush/bleed the line completely using clutch pumping or a pressure bleeder (don't push clutch to floor). Remember to keep brake fluid reservoir well topped off during the bleed, because the clutch master feed tube draws air when the reservoir is only halfway down!
