Subject: Vanagon Pedal Assemblies Failing!!!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Listees,

ANyone else have the Clutch Push Rod area fail on their Vanagon??

We did a van in our shop last week that the hole had Completly egged out and broke thru!! I have recently bought an 88 Wolfsburg Weekender and it has the same problem!! The hole has enlongated and the clutch will barely engage correctly after adjusting the pushrod due to lack of throw.

This wear is possibly caused by not keeping your Clutch Pedal Pushrod adjusted to the correct free play, but then again I'm not sure.

I wanted to post to inform the List of this happening, I don't recall any discussion on this topic in the past either.

I hope this info helps someone too. I do NOT look forward to doing this job, it was 4 hours start to finish the last time:( I hope it will go smoother the second time....

Kyle
