My Bentley shows that both sensors on the thermostate housing on a 87 Vanagon to be for the fuel injection temp sensor and one of those two to be for the temp gauge as well. A misprint no doubt. I think that the front facing sensor is for the injection. true or false ? When diagnosing for terrible mileage, if found that the coolant temp sensor read to the equivilant of 100 F too cold. A minute latter when rechecking it, the reading was fairly accurate. Do they fail in this manner, or would it be out all the time? Is there a ground that could be intermitant, as my horn doesn't always work due to a bad ground some where ?

Thanks for your help,

Larry
