Paolo:

I have figured it out on my own (with some help from list members), and I am doing it now... I pulled the front carpet and pad out (they were badly in need of cleaning anyway), and I am running a length of jacketed wiring harness from the battery box to the dash right along side an existing conduit. Once behind the dash, I will use one of the wires to bypass fuse #3 (I will add an in-line fuse at the battery). In addition, I will add another line that connects my aftermarket 3-outlet 12v receptacle (mounted on the heater box below the radio) and the radio. I plan to leave additional leads available for CD Radio, amplifier, and one or two other items. This way, all the accessories will run from the auxiliary batteries whether or not the ignition is switched on. (My radio currently only works with the ignition on - bad for camping <g>)

In addition, I have run another length of this jacketed wiring harness (it carries two 14 gauge wires inside a PVC sleeve) under the floor of all the cabinetry and back to the "secret compartment" next to the water tank. In there, I plan to install a fuse block and a panel-mounted 12v receptacle for running accessories in the cabin area.

Let me know if you have questions.
