Ralph:

I can tell you now, after just today finishing the installation of auxiliary batteries and re-wiring the entire cabin, that the only things that run off the aux. battery in the "factory" configuration are the fridge, sink pump. and LED meter. The cabin light is tapped to the light over the driver's door, which is in turn tapped to fuse #3 on the fuse panel (main battery)

I just rewired everything so that all accessories run off my bank of two auxiliary batteries. It was not difficult, but is was an all-day job.

Gee Whiz Folks, This is confusing. --- On Page 190 of my '90 Vanagon Westie owners manual, it says "The auxiliary battery supplies power when the vehicle is stationary. A special relay between the vehicle battery and the auxiliary battery prevents the vehicle battery from discharging" I figured that this meant the fridge on DC and the water pump, and the rear side cabin light (the one that looks like a flourescent light). What does the factory installed Auxiliary battery actually operate? Please try to help me out of my confusion. Thanks, Ralph
