How does the rest of the world stop their kids (4 and 1 year olds) from falling out of their 'upstairs' bunk in a camper van. The bed is made up from a fixed rear section with a separate section that pulls foreword and drops into place leaving a drop at the front edge of about 6 foot to the floor. OUCH! Any tried and trusted ideas most welcome.

Hi. Go in any store that carry baby furniture and security items for new borns ( Zellers, The Bay, etc.) and buy an extendable bed rail. It fits perfect in my Westy. It holds tight with two legs with rugged ends that enters deep between the mattress and the plywood on which the mattress sits. It is solid and so far it does the work. They are about 12 to 15 inches high and extend to the full size of the top bunk bed. I am not sure about the company but I think it is made by Jolly Jumper ...and I paid only 25$ CDN. Good luck.
