Well, Volks.....here is what I found out yesterday. My local VW dealer told me the following. Speedometer cable, inner and outer, (inner not available seperately)......$65. AND...the dust cap....$35. That's Canauk $$ just in case you don't remember I'm in Canada. The conversion rate today I'm not sure but was around 42% last time I checked. So.......not too, too bad in the realm of Vanagon Parts. I think I will try a repair on the end and if that doesn't work I'm gonna spring for a new cable and dust cap. I found a piece of square stock that I have drilled out to accept the speedo cable and will try to secure it to the speedo cable with something. JB Weld, Epoxy, Sleeve Retainer or ?????? Still pondering what would be the best glue. And, yes I will still have time to spend with my family, gardening, this weekend !

Cheers

Frank
