I bought an '87 Westfalia camper two years ago. Now has 105,000 miles on it. Everything is fine except that when I turn left (from a stop, on a rural road, in town) the engine cuts out and loses power intermittently. It never stalls completely, but if the accelerator is depressed at all it bucks. The only solution is to enter a left turn with enough momentum to carry you through the turn and keep the throttle closed. Has anyone else experienced this? My local, independent VW mechanic is stymied. Has replaced the wiring harness with an upgraded unit; tinkered with the injection throttle body, et al. Says he has one other customer with similar vintage VW bus that does the same thing. Any idea what might be wrong and how to correct it? Kent Bristol kbristol@mvcc.net
