Personally, I prefer Bosch wipers, they are the longest lasting type I've ever tried. VWs wipers are manufactured by SWF, I bought a set @ the dealer once, they were terrible. I had to wipe the wipers <g> in order for them to remove all water from the screen. Before, there were stripes, very annoying, especially when the wipers are new. I have read somewhere, a tip that wipers from Golf3/Jetta3 cars will fit, they are longer and will cover more of the screen. Haven't tried this myself, have to borrow the wipers from me moms '94. Some modification were necessary, I recall. The spoiler on either the blade or wiper arm had to be removed where applicable.
