Subject: Smoking power window-part 2
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

I've got a smoking power window (driver's side, '87 Westy). I removed the motor, cables, and window regulator. I laid it across a small table, plugged it into the door wiring and switch and ran it. It ran fine. No smoke, no sparks. I then reinstalled it and again I have smoke and sparks coming from the back of the window regular post. It's coming from the exposed cable that runs from the top to the bottom of the regulator. Any ideas? I'm at a loss. Thanks. -- John
