Hi The front seats of my '82 Vanagon have an area where the springs or other structure seem to be protruding through the original padding. This is on both seats and is a bit painful after driving only a few minutes. My wife's passenger seat doesn't bother her nearly as much as my driver's seat but then she is much smaller and lighter. I like driving the Vanagon so much that I have put up with it for a few months and parked my new TDI Jetta about 90% of the time. A recent back strain is causing me immediate concern and I must fix these seats ASAP! Is it easier to just go to the recycle yard and get a newer seat or is there a fix that someone has been successful with? The seats look perfect on the outside, so I would like to repair them first if possible. Many thanks in advance Jim |
