I put a new fuel filter in it and it seemed to end my bucking problem for 40 miles of combination driving! Well, My brother and I took the Westy out for OUR madin camping trip to Connecticut. Ran fine out there, had a GREAT time camping in it. BOY,THESE THINGS ARE GREAT FOR CAMPING!!!! Ran fine until the very end of out trip back home today. It started doing it again as I exited the Highway after about a 45 min. of 65 mph driving in a hilly area! The bucking stated again, Then it hit me this stated the first time after extended highway use and now it is happening again ONLY after highway use over 30 min????? I have checked the fuel pump under load replaced the fuel filter and it has been running great other than after the long highway use. Boy, this was not the way i wanted to end a great first camping trip!! Joel ____________________ >> You have the typical problem of static electricity building up in the air flow meter. It took VW 5 years to find the problem. You need the adapter that plugs into the connector at the air flow meter, it's a harness adapter. It should take care of the problem. Kenwilfy@aol.com will have the part for ya. He is on the list. Also run a small wire from the fire wall into the side of the airflow meter to ground the meter. It helps too. See ya, Michael. 87 syncro 87 quattro. |
