Sorry about not addressing this sooner but I'm a bit tight in the available time dept. right now.

So, albeit briefly, no, this really isn't feasible due to design constraints of the cross-country gear and housing. Sure, anything's possible if you throw enough money at it. But with the regular Syncro transaxle rebuilds going for $2K plus, and the very limited potential market, I just don't think that there will be enough sales to bring the costs down from the stratosphere.

Nice idea, though!
