I'll add another note on my installation of these flaps. I did not like the clips which are supplied with the fronts. for what ever reason they did not seat far enough and stuck up/out to far. Maybe my fender edges are shorter then others? (91 syncro ) Anyway I opted to utilize the existing lower two holes which held on the original plastic fender flare. I just screwed sheet metal type screws right trough these holes and into the mudflaps. The upper screw needs to be rather short, like 1/4 inch I thin, but It worked great. Nat Seattle

I've installed the OEM mudflaps (from the Bus Depot).

The small bolt and numerous nuts (8mm, I think) are designed to be used to hold the interior portion of the FRONT mudflaps stable/secure. (The product I received had a brief instruction drawing enclosed in the package.)

There is drilling that needs to be done to install this stabilizing bolt & nut system. The installation on my 91 Gl required some carefully planning & drilling, because location of the drilled hole is into the steel cross-member that is the jack insertion point. By angling the new bolt hole slightly inward (toward the interior of the car) I was able to avoid placing the bolt in a relatively inaccessible spot (inside the jack insertion point tube). What I did to determine the location of the drilled hole was install the front mudflaps with just the clips. Then, sliding under the car, I used the existing bolt hole in the mudflap as a guide while drilling. Once you've placed the mudflaps with just the clips the location of the hole that needs to be drilled will be quite apparent. Adjust its location to give yourself room for the nut/washer or bolt head (depending on which way you decide to install the bolt).

Again, look for the single sheet installation graphic in one of the packages. It will become clear how the bolt and nut/washers are to be installed on the mudflap when you do.

Hope this helps,
